Description
The Data Scientist I works on data and analytics initiatives and projects by defining and clarifying technical project scope, developing technical approach and architecture and performing root cause analysis in support of addressing and correcting data-related issues. Provides process mining infrastructure guidance and design principles; oversees process mining infrastructure configuration. Works closely with process analysts to translate business requirements and use cases into technical and data requirements. Extracts, transforms and loads (ETL) all source system data needed for each process implemented within the process mining software. Builds process mining data models and monitors and optimizes the performance of all data queries to ensure ideal response times. Maintains daily administration of local data lake and process mining production environments, including scheduling processes, monitoring resources, and performing administrative functions. Documents technical and data requirements gathering and extract, transform, load (ETL) working with IT teams to identify source system tables and fields that need to be brought into the process mining and other software; collaborates with relevant business experts to validate data and system deliverables. Develops data science model, code, ETL and software engineering deliverables in an Agile development activity cycle and performs system analysis, develops use cases, and identifies necessary model/system changes within code based upon specific requirements for the business. Collaborates with vendor(s) on technology and software considerations, advises on adoption and timing of software patches and upgrades, identifies and communicates risks associated with operations with an emphasis on appropriate internal control considerations, supports investigation and remediation of operational issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field.
The Data Scientist I position requires:
• Coursework in data analytics, applied regression analysis/modeling, statistical/machine learning, and computer science.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the ETL or data mining process as demonstrated by coursework or experience.
