JPA Health is currently searching for bright and ambitious Interns for the summer. We invite all college juniors, seniors, and graduate level students to join JPA for the summer and become data-driven storytellers in the Healthcare space! This 8 week paid program will run from June 3rd to July 26th.
As a Data Science Intern, you will work on one or two projects throughout the summer to help build and evolve the data infrastructure and environment to meet the needs of the business. Our team works with a wide variety of datasets, utilizing tools within the Google Cloud environment to solve real-world problems for our clients.
JPA’s culture of collaboration allows our staff greater flexibility while helping to connect colleagues, spur creativity and sharing of best practices, and importantly, foster a positive company culture. All interns will participate in Collaboration Days, our hybrid model of working in the office 3-days a week and working remotely 2-days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Understand business requirements and drive development of strategies for challenging questions
- Collect, clean, and preprocess datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and usability
- Maintain detailed documentation of data sources, methodologies, and code to facilitate knowledge sharing and future replication
- Document and disseminate research findings internally and externally to a variety of stakeholders
- Support testing and troubleshoot data issues in the data pipeline.
Requirements
- Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (Data Analytics, Computer Science or related major)
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work are critical
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage several tasks simultaneously and work both independently and as a team
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams
- Competency in programming languages, such as SQL, Python, or RS, as well as cloud computing environments (i.e., Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud)
- Understanding of software frameworks such as Hadoop and Elasticsearch
