Role Summary/Purpose
The primary function of this role is to advance the development of electricity price forecasting methods used in our IntelliBidder product offering. IntelliBidder is a software product used to optimize participation in electricity markets for standalone energy storage systems and renewable plus energy storage systems. The Intern will be an integral part of the Data Science team in a Research and Development role, working to accelerate the development of our software capabilities while supporting new product development initiatives in the field of automated power system optimization. This role will be Summer 2024 at our Herndon, VA facility
Essential Responsibilities
•Clean and manipulate datasets using Python
•Train time series forecast models and evaluate model effectiveness by conducting tests on historical data
•Document model training experiment details and performance
Qualifications/Requirements
•Currently pursuing degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field.
•Proficiency in Python
•Interest in forecasting problems
•Can work independently
Desired Characteristics
•Experience with common Python Data Science libraries
•Experience with time series forecasting
