Dodge Construction Network (DCN) is searching for a Data Researcher to join our team!
The Data Researcher evaluates large batches of report data for accuracy and corrects or adds information when necessary for its use in various products. This role enters the data to various product databases and updates information from sources including public agencies, contractors, architects, engineers, private owners, and online sites providing construction updates.
This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.
Location
This is a remote role and candidates can be located anywhere in the U.S. There is a preference to hire within the Eastern time zone.
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate large to mid-size construction projects for accuracy in start and statistical data
- Enter projects into a database and create summary documents for project meetings
- Participate in project meetings and presentations
- Track projects if they re-enter planning stages to help avoid delayed entries
- Enter batches of smaller projects under the correct structure codes
- Evaluate commercial and residential projects and add additional needed data like subclasses, types of residential units, and verified completion dates for construction projects
- Update reports as necessary following evaluation, assigning tasks to ensure follow-up
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely updates
- Research special projects as necessary to support internal teams
- Conduct online research of owners, architects, newspapers, city/county permitting, and other similar online sites and reach out by phone, email, or other online communication
- Contact Sources when necessary to verify online information accuracy
- Ensure accurate entry of data into various proprietary applications
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in the construction industry is preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity of construction industry terminology and methodology preferred
- Ability to remember different rules and processes for multiple products
- Great telephone skills
- Computer proficiency with basic skills on software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage work time and workflow effectively
- Strong online research skills
- Ability to calculate arithmetic according to established formulas
- Strong attention to detail following assigned processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Must be curious; work requires a tendency to question accuracy of data and assumptions
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public

Salary Disclosure
Annual Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job-related factors. DCN’s compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, uncapped commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
