Data Quality Analyst / Report Writer
Goldberg & Osborne, Arizona's premier personal injury law firm, has an immediate opportunity for an IT Business Systems Analyst / Developer.
DESCRIPTION:
The Data Quality Analyst / Report Writer is responsible for the defining, developing, configuring, and supporting of data and reporting. This individual will take a high-level approach to critically understanding the firms’ operations and systems by interacting with project stakeholders by researching and identifying cost-effective solutions based on industry standardized platforms.
This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining multiple reports between cloud and on premise-based systems. Specifically, this individual will gather business requirements; build and maintain reports, create database models and documentation; create SQL queries to provide business intelligence information; write, test, and maintain batch-oriented jobs; provide database development assistance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the IT Systems Analyst this individual:
· Uses subject matter expertise in developing business requirement report definitions.
· Translates project requirements into highly technical specifications by working with project stakeholders, sponsors, and development team.
· Determines potential solutions and tests them for both technical and business compatibility.
· Develops project feasibility reports and presents proposals to the partners.
· Provides alternative solutions and objectively evaluates each to arrive at the best solution.
· Works with the partners, managers, and IT department to identify process improvement opportunities.
· Represents the needs of the project sponsor and stakeholders.
· Works closely with project sponsor to identify and report risks, issues and dependencies on assigned tasks or projects.
· Will guide the firm through business case development for new applications and functionality.
· Develops report structures for business stakeholders’ needs.
· Participates in the maintenance and development of all new and existing SQL databases, and reports.
· Has knowledge of relational and object oriented database programming and technology to help automate processes within the firm and seeks assistance as needed.
· Performs requested database administration and system administration functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or 5 years of professional work experience.
· Solid understanding of business practices with fundamental understanding of project management methodology.
· Should have a demonstrated ability to work independently and in small teams, excellent customer service and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
· Have the ability to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions to business problems and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 3+ years of report writing and data analysis experience.
· 3+ years Microsoft SQL Server development.
· 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server conceptual, physical data design, and server maintenance.
· 3+ years of SQL Lite experience.
· SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience.
· SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience.
· VBA experience a plus.
· API experience a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Position requires a high degree of customer service including daily verbal and written interaction with users.
· Responsibilities will occasionally require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice.
· Medium work ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
· Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
· Position requires close visual acuity.
· Ability to maintain an organized, and effective work ethic.
