The Data Platforms Team is seeking an intern excited about data! The Data Platforms team provides data tier expertise, solutions and database management to support the data persistence needs of internal Impinj stakeholders. In this role you will participate in database design, implementation and administration. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams in the design and support of systems to support their data reporting solutions. This opportunity is open to individuals that are entering the final year of their program, recent graduates, and other self-taught/bootcamp candidates.
What you will do:
- Assist in clarifying requirements and participate in schema design
- Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures
- Support administration of on-premises and cloud database platforms
- Participate in code reviews and design sessions
- Work in an agile environment and design solutions to address future needs
What you will bring:
- Experience with SQL and writing basic queries
- Familiarity with a database such as MS SQL, Postgres or cloud solution
- Experience writing code with a modern language such as C#, Java or Python
- Pursuing or recent completion of degree or certification program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience using TSQL to implement tables and stored procedures
- Experience writing application services utilizing C#/.NET
- Have used PowerShell to script out a batch or DevOps action
- Familiar with AWS services and tools such as the Console and CLI
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following, OLTP, OLAP, star schema, relational databases or NoSQL databases
- Familiar with basic database administration tasks such as backup and restore and troubleshooting operational issues
- Data Warehousing, ETL, SSIS or other related tools
- Familiar with tools such as Github, Datadog or Harness
Compensation and Benefits:
The typical base pay range for this internship is $26-30HR. Internship base pay depends on the level of education currently achieved. Interns working more than 20 hours per week also have access to healthcare benefits, free parking at our Seattle office, and a 401k with company match.
