Serco supports the NAVAIR on its FRCSE NDMS contract which is looking for a Data Ops Engineer to participate as an active team member on development teams utilizing Agile development practices, disciplines, and techniques. This includes but is not limited to the following: planning, analysis and execution of assigned use cases, user stories, test scripts and product backlog as it relates to the refinement of requirements development and continuous Life Cycle Management.
You will be part of a team comprised of government and contractors that work closely with other Serco team members to deliver quality support. Our team has been recognized by the Naval Air Systems Command Program as providing top quality services in support of the customers.
In this role, you will have:
- Experience designing and building data pipelines allowing data to flow from multiple sources to data warehouses or lakes
- Extensive Experience relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Experience with cloud migrations, Azure preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining data models preferred
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, and Hive)
- Familiarity with streaming technologies used for real-time data processing (Kafka, EventHub, Kinesis)
- Familiarity with IBM Maximo
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- United States Citizenship
- An Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
- 5 years of related professional work experience.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, especially on virtual teams
- The ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to travel up to 10%
