Job description

The Data Governance Senior Analyst will work to implement agreed upon Data Governance standards across the enterprise (business and technology), help to drive a culture of data quality and data ownership and being a point of contact for data issues as they arise to ensure they are properly resolved at the source. This person will also work directly with the data warehouse team to implement accuracy and completes controls and sound data management practices to ensure that the data warehouse is a trusted source of data for all downstream consumers. This person(s) will also help to prepare for the Data Governance working group and steering committee meetings. In addition, this person(s) will support the data catalog to ensure that it is kept current and expanded as necessary over time so there is a up-to-date enterprise wide data glossary.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Will work closely with the Chief Data Officer to ensure adherence to the agreed upon standards to drive improved data quality across the company
  • Work with each LOB to ensure there is a clear roadmap and agreement on sourcing from trusted data domains
  • Work to ensure that Data Stewards and Data Domain managers are supported and connected with upstream/downstream data providers
  • Help to drive requirements when new sourcing of data feed requirements
  • Drive a SDLC change management discipline with rigor
  • Work to implement Agile development or alternative ways of working that support transparency and accuracy across a development environment
  • Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Background in financial services and data management - preferably 5+ years
  • Ability to build, lead, influence and motivate teams through times of change
  • Excellent communication skills with respect to both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates high EQ and self-awareness. Inspires teams to engage, innovate and deliver

Physical Requirements:
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
