ABOUT THIS ROLE: The Data Engineer / Architect will collaborate directly with the Digital Analytics team within Enterprise Analytics & CX to design, document, build, and refine a scalable data framework to support digital reporting & analytics.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Designs and builds relational database models and defines data requirements to meet the business needs. Foster value creation from the use of the internal organization's data assets, as well as from the external data ecosystem. Source the value through envisioning data-enabled strategies as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
– Defines and documents data requirements to meet business needs
– Designs & builds data pipelines to move decentralized data into a common data warehouse
– Develops logical and physical database models. Writes ETL scripts and commands
– Participates in data product design recommendations that span the data warehouse and reporting layers
– Analyze and organizes raw data to be translated into usable data tables for consumption
– Review & resolve database performance, capacity, data integrity, and replication issues.
– Responsible for data governance, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data definitions across the data warehouse
– Sustains knowledge of current trends as it relates to data analytics
– Recognizes the strengths and weaknesses of various data sources; works with stakeholders to recommend utilization of specific data sources to most effectively capture desired information
– Influences the data architecture and communicates to various data leaders to share the advantages of design change
RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Works with data leaders to define & document data requirements to meet business needs.
2. Reviews current data model and performance and recommends changes to improve
3. Builds new & reconstructs current engineering data pipelines
4. Designs a high-performant reporting model for fast analytics
5. Applies data governance best practices end to end (e.g., code documentation, metric definitions, table metadata, data quality checks)
Required Skills:
– Experience in scripting for automation using SQL, including experience writing DML and DDL statements
– – 5+ years
– Experience in data warehousing and data modeling – 5+ years
– Experience designing Power BI semantic models – 2+ years
– Experience with GitLab or GitHub – 1+ years
In addition to the above required skills, the following would be considered highly preferred:
– Experience with Alteryx and/or AutoSys
– Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, and Hive
– Experience with Python is a plus
Phone/Teams Interviews (expect 2 rounds), First round will be 1 on 1, second will be panel. Candidates will be expected to speak to experience and answer technical questions to demonstrate their technical aptitude and alignment to the preferred skills and required skills.
“The hourly pay range for this position is $60 to $66/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
