Description
This is a hands-on technical position requiring analytical and problem-solving skills on an individual contributor level. This position requires the design and development of solutions requiring subject matter expertise in Tableau and Talend Data Integration. They/Them will be required to understand business requirements, architect, independently design, develop, test, and implement Data Engineering solutions, with some direction from a supervisor or team lead. In addition, the person will be expected to analyze high level business requirements and estimate effort to aid in project planning.
The Data Engineer follows the IT Development methodology, ensuring best design and compliance with data management and visualization practices, source code control, and change management procedures.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Analysis of business requirements related to reporting and data visualizations. Define technical specifications for the solution in the form of a design document using Client template, in collaboration with Client Tech Lead.
• Analysis of current solutions built in Tableau and/or Talend Data Integration Studio, to design changes needed for enhancements.
• Conduct design review with peers, Tech Lead, and incorporate subsequent feedback
• Develop new or enhance existing Tableau dashboards and visualizations using Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server
• Validate Tableau visualizations and data loaded in the Data Warehouse using SQL analysis
• Conduct unit and integration testing of Data pipelines from various Sources to the Data Warehouse to Tableau visualizations
• Design and Develop data integration solutions using Talend Data Integration Studio
• Analyze and deploy fixes to defects and help desk tickets

Additional Responsibilities could include:

• Provide support to QA and UAT teams during testing of solutions
• Report progress and issues to Tech Lead, Project Leader, & Reporting Manager on a regular basis and ensure project schedules are met
• Assist users in tuning and building BI/Tableau reports
• Work with the respective software vendor to implement solutions when there are issues, enhancements or upgrades, needed to the vendor provided software
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of BI and stays up to date on current technology trends in the area of expertise

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or higher in Computer Science.
4-7 years overall Business Intelligence and Data Analysis experience
2-4 years of hands on analysis and development experience in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
2-4 years of hands on analysis and development using SQL & PL/SQL and Data Warehouse Design
2-4 years hands-on analysis and development in a Data Integration tool, preferrbly with Talend, desired
2-4 years performance tuning in Tableau, desired
