Location Option: Virtual Home Office with occasional travel to client sites
Data Engineer:
As a Data Engineer you will work hands-on with some of the most innovative clients and use cases. Leveraging your extensive expertise, you will be a leader for Bardess, bringing value to our clients by designing and guiding the implementation of cutting-edge Data Warehouse Solutions, Ingesting source data from a wide variety of platforms and creating Data Pipelines to bring it all together.
Data Engineer activities include but are not limited to:
· Analyze, assess and implement data processes, perform gap analysis and identify data quality issues and performance issues within those processes
· Organize disparate data sources into single data models and implement pipelines to realize that model.
· Integrate 3rd party sources such as SAP, Salesforce, and other CRMs into the clients’ data warehouse.
· In some cases, design the data warehouse from scratch, on other cases optimize and grow current warehouse implementations.
· Worked on multiple platforms such AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google, Windows and Linux
· Develop creative solutions for client problems.
· Establish positive relationships with customers (internal and external)
· Identify customer needs and work collaboratively to address requirements
· Identification, evaluation, and proposal of solutions to identified process, performance, and data quality issues.
· Validation of solutions by testing programs and manual assessments.
· Implementation of solutions, including training and support of client personnel.
· Work with Bardess and Client leadership to identify innovative uses cases to grow involvement with the customer.
Requirements and Qualifications for Data Engineer:
Technical Skills Required:
· Significant experience developing Data Pipelines applications a must
· Very strong data modelling, working with CDC, Batch Loading, ETL, and ELT
· Experience with Talend and other Qlik data integration tools a plus
· Experience with various Pipeline tools such as Alteryx, dbt, Knime a plus
· Exposure to data science capabilities a plus
· 3-5 years database development experience a must, some of which should be data warehouse focused
· Experience optimizing and improving existing pipelines
· Advanced SQL experience required.
· Python development, especially for ingestion processes a plus
· Experience working with data from ERP software such as SAP or Oracle, or CRM software preferred
· Experience working with various corporate information security policies
Business/Data Management Skills Required:
· Experience with Data Engineering tools assessing data quality and developing remediation plans
· Strong communications (verbal and written) and decision-making skills required, with a heavy emphasis on daily client interactions.
· Diplomatic problem solver who can work closely with client stakeholders to understand internal impact across the client for potential solutions.
· Time management and organizational skills a must for multi-task environment
· Ability to track project progress and communicate deliverable development milestones while ensuring quality
Self-directed with proven ability to escalate issues when necessary.
Education:
· BA/BS Degree (MBA a plus) with 3-5 years' applicable business experien
