Stratus Technology Services is seeking an experienced Data Business Systems Analystto join our team. The ideal Data BSA will have a strong background in data analysis with an emphasis on the P&C insurance industry to help support a large nationwide insurance carrier with their project initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing software systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define software conversion objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
- Perform in-depth data analysis.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical teams, end-users, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
- Identify and document business processes and workflows to align with organizational goals and objectives.
- P&C Insurance experience (highly preferred) or general Insurance experience.
- Basic SQL skills. Ability to write basic queries against data bases for analytical purposes (versus optimized performance or ETL).
- Self-starter/self-sufficient ability to take direction but also act independently within the context of the role.
- Basic project management capabilities ability to manage multiple competing priorities and have / understand trade off discussions with stakeholders.
- Ability to decompose technical documentation to provide insight into the requirements development process for:
- BI / Report Writing
- Systems Decommissioning
- Data Validation / ETL Issue Resolution
- Data analysis skills in support of data warehouse / data validation testing or report testing.
- BI report writing skills is a Plus (Power BI).
- Familiarity with tools like confluence, JIRA, SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau, SSIS/SSAS.
- Strong communication skills.
