Short-Term Upon Start:
- Oversee the data and analytics strategy, including tactics and infrastructure for BMV.
- Maintain and provide troubleshooting support for EveryAction in local community organizing efforts.
- Analyze voter file data to assess past work and identify future strategies.
- Track programmatic performance to goals using both non-automated and automated dashboards, especially in areas of direct voter contact, voter registration, and organizing efforts.
- Prepare voter contact universes for communication with Black male voters through various channels based on 1-to-1 matching.
- Train organizers on daily use of data tools to enhance their work effectiveness.
Long-Term Across 2024 Election Cycle:
- Manage VAN for direct voter contact and provide training on its use.
- Conduct post-election analysis utilizing diverse information sources.
- Integrate datasets from various sources to enhance BMV’s overall program impact.
- Represent BMV’s data strategy and processes to internal and external stakeholders.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum three cycles of political data and analytics experience, with at least one in a leadership role, preferably related to voter registration or electoral campaigns.
- Strong experience in data operations centering historically marginalized, particularly Black communities.
- Proficiency in VAN and EveryAction administrative tools, with multiple cycles of use.
- Skilled in data visualization tools such as Looker Studio, QGIS, or visualization in Python or R.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, preferably in Google Big Query or Civis Platform environments.
- Knowledge of Blocks for voter registration tracking.
- Familiarity with backend data structures of organizing and electoral work tools in the progressive space.
- Experience managing vendor relationships.
- Experience in both 501(c)3 and 501(c4) contexts.
- Collaboration experience with digital design and ads teams.
- Experience in implementing use of voter sentiment data (e.g., from polling or focus groups).
