: DATA ANALYTICS INTERN

REPORTS TO: DATA ANALYTICS PROGRAM MANAGER
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Data Analytics Intern exists to assist in identifying, compiling, and providing relevant information and analytical reports that will enable company leadership, member shareholders, and other employees in making sound and strategic operational decisions. This position is responsible for collaborating and assisting the department with basic duties. This internship will provide valuable exposure to real-world Data Analytics projects and the opportunity to apply data skills to solve business problems within a specific department or functional area that results in actionable return on investment, member growth, and increased operational efficiencies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Learn and utilize technology as required to prepare, process, analyze, and share reports and dashboards to aid in data driven informed decision making.
2. Assist in collaborating with leaders across all departments to support and assist in implementing high-quality, data-driven decisions.
3. Assist in the implementation and building of dashboards and onboarding new data sources to the data warehouse.
4. Create and share ad-hoc reports on a requested case by case basis to other departments and committees as needed.
5. Assist in generating reports summarizing analysis findings and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
6. Assist in data clean up and pre-processing data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
7. Assist with special projects as requested.
8. Complete all assignments outlined in the internship syllabus.
9. Actively and thoughtfully communicate with their supervisor, planning their goals and development, taking accountability for their actions, and striving for excellence.

g. Deliver on commitments of action(s) to be taken, so excuses won't be necessary.
h. Follow through on necessary action(s) to be sure the problem is solved.
i. Know that what's important is not only who or what created the problem but how the problem can be corrected.
j. Protect confidential information.
16. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. However, we do accept OPT/CPT.
Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a relevant field such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
One to three years similar or related experience preferred.
Ability to manipulate and interpret complex datasets.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Professional, pleasant, and outgoing personality.
Ability to perform under pressure.

Problem solving ability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for learning and a desire to grow in the field of Data Analytics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
The following physical activities will be required on a day-to-day basis: climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, pulling, fingering, feeling, hearing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, repetitive motions.

VISUAL/PERCEPTION ACTIVITY:
Administrative, Clerical, Data Entry operators, Inspection, (work at distances close to the eyes).

WORKING CONDITIONS:
None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)

HUMAN RELATION SKILLS NEEDED:
The ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and contacts outside of the credit union in a polite, courteous timely, accurate and efficient manner. Patience in dealing with a difficult member.
