UNCOMN is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to:
  • Analyze raw source data to determine contents and meaning and apply to client requirements
  • Design and build processes for loading and transforming data including pipelines, warehouses, and platforms
  • Turn complex data sets into useful information and create and present analytical dashboards to executive-level decision-makers
  • Work closely with the customer to understand the business problem and need, then dig into their data to find the information to solve it
  • Provide the customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it means, and how it can be used
  • Actively participate in team meetings, design reviews, and peer reviews
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization
  • Apply expertise to multiple complex work assignments that may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in accomplishing tasks
  • Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
  • Work unsupervised, performing all functional duties independently

In this role, your insights and data-driven decisions will directly impact the success of critical missions worldwide. By analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing transportation plans, enhancing operational efficiency, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Department of Defense. Requirements
  • Three (3) or more years of related professional experience
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government as needed, which requires US citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in a related field
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and/or R
  • Experience with using DataBricks, or another similar tool, to perform data transformations or modeling
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools, like Qlik (preferred), Tableau, and/or Power BI
  • Ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to comprehend stakeholder needs effectively, communicate development plans, and track progress milestones
  • Excellent critical thinking skills for assessing numbers, trends, and data to reach new conclusions based on findings

Preferred
  • Active (Top) Secret clearance
  • Experience with Qlik dashboarding, development functions, and mashups
  • Experience using Cloud Native Services
  • Software development skills (i.e. scripts)
  • Possession of excellent quantitative skills, including statistical analysis, process design, and data management
