Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst - **Obs/Gyn**.
In this role, the successful candidate The Data Analyst will be a member of the core Decision Support team in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and will work in conjunction with clinical division leadership. We are seeking a qualified Data Analyst to provide support for data management and analyses across the clinical, quality, and safety portfolio of projects. The Data Analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing statistical analyses. A successful applicant will be able to work autonomously and comfortably in an academic medical center environment

Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain existing data collection and analysis systems in support of department clinical efficiencies.
    • Provide technical assistance to clinical and administrative leadership teams in accessing and analyzing datasets, as needed.
    • Create descriptive data summaries including visualizations and written descriptions of data findings for a wide range of audiences.
    • Design and conduct analyses pertaining to data acquired thorough various data sources; Combine disparate data sources into an integrated database or dataset.
    • Work with clinical and administrative leadership teams to facilitate automation of standard, recurrent data acquisition, management, analysis and reporting.
    • Independently coordinate, compile, and analyze financial and operational data utilizing spreadsheet and database applications. Review and monitor appropriate dashboards.
    • Support the development of process improvements and cost saving efficiencies within current clinical model.
    • Collaborating with clinical leadership and under the guidance of administrative leadership, conduct statistical analyses and present findings.
    • Help to identify and quantify operational deficiencies that may be adversely impacting physician billing and/or cash flow, process issues, etc. Assist in finding solutions to these issues.
    • Prepares operational analyses and reports, and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.
    • Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process.
    • Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into databases under purview. Utilizes software applications for data collection and analysis.
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into databases and datasets.
    • Develop standard and ad hoc query reports for data integrity monitoring and project management purposes.
    • Ensure timely achievement of all metric-related project deliverables.
    • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the hospital community (OR, Nursing, L&D, etc) and division offices whose support is necessary for the success of clinical data analytic efforts.
    • Compile and review analyses, reporting, key performance indicators, and operational metrics. Participate in corrective actions in response to variances and trends.
    • Gather and collect data from different parties and present findings as applicable.
    • Independently prepare and review documents, and generate status/progress reports for ongoing and pending projects, including analysis of findings. Prepare presentation materials for clinical and administrative leadership teams.
    • Assist in establishing procedures and best practices for implementation of data standards.
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel (including advanced functions, such as complex formulas, pivot tables, graphing), PowerPoint and Outlook. Effective oral and written communication. Strong quantitative skills. Ability to select and apply appropriate statistical methods for collecting and summarizing varied data; Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multitask while paying attention to details. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate computer processing methods used to generate, organize and display statistical and analytical data; and standard English grammar, spelling, and usage; Strong attention to detail; Problem-solving and critical thinking skills; Planning/organizational skills; Personal motivation; Experience working in an academic medical center; Ability to work within fast-paced environment with adherence to critical work deadlines; Experience with EPIC preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $100,700.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
