Position Overview:
The Intern Business Data Analyst will support the development of quantified macro-level market knowledge regarding commercial fleet industry classifications. The market knowledge is necessary for guiding EAVX and JBPCO innovation programs. Duties will include gathering commercial vehicle data, dividing gathered data from original sources and joining data into useful structures, reporting data-based understandings, suggesting areas for improvement, and answering questions from leadership about the data.
Potential for Internship Role to develop into a Full-time position.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Data Collection

1. Obtain Excel data files that have been exported from multiple data sources (business unit sales databases, S&P IHS Markit).
2. Ensure completeness regarding market alignment between databases.

Data Consolidation

1. Organize data into market-segment sets, combining fields from the multiple data sources and storing data according to key field(s).
2. Examine consolidated data for combination errors caused by data syntax errors and resolve them.

Report Construction

1. Create reports that present data trends within market segments, including confidence intervals for trend lines.

Market Forecasting

1. Forecast market behaviors based on data trends.
2. Evaluate potential for market segment overlaps and unusually large market gaps.

Educational / Training Requirements:

• Enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Actuarial Science, Business Development, or Engineering
• Experience with data analysis using Microsoft Excel
• Experience with software programming a plus
