Job Description:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Passion for media and/or news
- 3-5 years' experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or Web Analytics
- Experience in data visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker, DOMO, etc.)
- Familiarity with data governance concepts
- Advanced skill level using Excel
- Familiar with Agile team methodologies
- Experience with analytics and marketing platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Amplitude, etc
- Equally capable working as part of a team or independently
- Proficient with SQL or other data manipulation languages
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, modeling, developing and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS).
- Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements.
- Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
- Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments.
- Develops an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.
- Identify data governance gaps that may present organizational barriers and find ways to close them
- Comfortable working within a culture of accountability and experimentation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement solutions and generate reporting to meet business goals
- Demonstrate critical thinking for potential roadblocks; comprehends bigger picture of the business and effectively communicates these issues to greater news digital organization
- Collaborates with reporting teams and business owners to turn data into actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools
