Data Analyst- Full Time-Day

JOB SUMMARY

• Identifies and analyzes appropriate sources for PI data, quality indicators, benchmarks and best practices to ensure the collection of meaningful data that supports clinical quality interventions.
• Ensures that PI activities are directed toward analysis of data with a focus on improvement of processes
• Assists in development of physician scorecards to monitor medical staff compliance with regulatory standards, LOS, cost containment, resource utilization and treatment guidelines.
• Assists in the implementation of and ongoing support for performance measurement software, to include a hospital wide PI dashboard.
• Develops spreadsheet workbook/ data entry forms to collect and display peer review material necessary for biannual reappointment and supplies necessary reports for department chairpersons.
• Prepares statistical reports and comparative reports utilizing appropriate statistical PI tools for department chairs, senior management and the board at least quarterly.
• Aggregates and provides information from all collected raw data to appropriate liaisons
• Retrieves data from various data repositories, develops analytical tools, models and reports that support ongoing hospital-wide activities
• Create and run standard reports for hospital wide initiatives
• Maintains the PI monitoring required for Joint Commission and assists departments with analysis and display
• Engage in all data management related system utilized hospital wide (i.e. Quadramed performance measurement) to maximize functionality
• Integral part of the team involved in researching new systems, new tools and techniques
• Educates OM staff, new managers and directors in the use of data management tools
• Serve as the project team member to coordinate and manage all statistical project activities
• Assist in the coordination and tracking of all data collection activities to ensure that data is meaningful, current and monitored
• Adhoc reporting as needed
• Completes other related duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

BS/BA in business, healthcare or IT: 3 years analytical and data management experience; Prior experience in Healthcare; Must be detailed oriented. Strong analytical ability working knowledge of various software programs; Extensive experience with spreadsheet software EXCEL plus working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products; Strong communication skills both written and oral; Ability to function independently.
