Job Summary: The
Data Analyst Developer supports performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualization, and information dissemination. The analyst develops and fine-tunes data visualization solutions, which includes coding, testing, debugging, designing and implementation. This role researches and plans analytic solutions for existing and new issues within the organization.Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree.Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) internal certification or proficiency required within 6 months. Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), preferred.Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, analytics, software development or data management. Experience with data visualization development tools such as Tableau, Qlik or Power BI along with programming tools such as R, Python and SQL, preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Detailed knowledge of healthcare and hospital business operations. Ability to synthesize and integrate information. Comprehensive knowledge of data warehouse and data management principles and processes and database development. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Strong programming, analytical, and computational skills. Significant skill with data quality, data profiling, metadata management and reporting.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Acts as a subject matter expert and partners with IT/Business experts to solve high priority organizational analytical concerns. Develops data visualization design and follows institutional standards for data visualization. Gathers, documents, and builds business logic of metrics into a dataset for ad hoc use to improve self-sufficiency in data access. Collaborates with analytics training staff to develop job aids and other training documents for solutions. Assists Data Stewards and Data Architects to populate, automate, and maintain metadata tables and columns as well as metrics, reports, dashboards, etc. to make the Enterprise Data Warehouse easier to navigate and facilitate good data governance.Decision Making: Independent judgement in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.Working Relationships: Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
