The Data Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining MS SQL Server database objects, analyzing data from various sources, and creating insightful dashboards and reports utilizing tools such as Power BI, ZAP, and Excel. The Data Analyst will work cross-functionally and with the technology team to optimize processes and produce regular reports for various departments throughout the organization. This role requires strong SQL skills, a data-driven mindset, and a passion for transforming data into actionable insights that will contribute to the organization's success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, tables, and queries in MS SQL Server. Migrate existing MS Access Databases into MS SQL Server and update reports accordingly.
- Extract, clean, and transform data from diverse systems, including MS SQL Server, ZAP, Excel, SYSPRO, EDI, HubSpot, etc., to create comprehensive datasets for analysis.
- Utilize Power BI, ZAP, and other visualization tools to design interactive reports and dashboards that communicate complex insights clearly and effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide accurate, timely, and insightful data analysis.
- Work closely with the IT team to develop data integration solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between different platforms and systems. Implement data automation processes to streamline data collection, forecasting, analysis, and reporting, optimizing efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct regular data quality assessments to identify and resolve data integrity issues, especially those related to key processes and reports (e.g., nightly invoicing, EDI, sales reports, forecasts). Review various reports daily that highlight data issues (e.g., customer and product categorizations, shipping addresses), root cause, and correct systematically to prevent repeat issues.
- Collaborate with the Systems Admin and Sr ERP Analyst to develop reports that identify trends in help tickets, assisting in proactive IT support and issue resolution.
- Establish a self-service tool for other departments to access EDI data, enabling them to retrieve necessary information efficiently. Also monitor EDI accuracy and completeness as it relates to outbound transmissions. Also, maintain the Automation Report as new trading partners are added.
- Create and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for the Operations, Sales, Finance, and other departments, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.
- Business Insights and Recommendations: Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and business growth. Provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making processes and achieve key performance indicators.
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests from various departments, delivering insightful analyses to address specific business challenges. Offer technical support to team members in utilizing data analysis tools and interpreting data effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, mathematics or statistics, or a related field of study required
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
- Experience with SQL, preferably SQL Server
- Experience with Excel and Power BI, including building clear and organized report formats.
- Experience with scripting languages like VB
- Effective written and verbal skills, along with good interpersonal skills
- Experience using an ERP system is preferred.
**5-7 years applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- At times may need to work in an Industrial warehouse environment with varying work levels and uneven surface areas
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
- Normal auditory, visual acuity including depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulatory ability and dexterity
