Dart Cdl Driver Trainer

The career opportunity:

The Driver Trainer provides safety and route training to Direct Operations drivers. Hopelink provides public transit through a contract with King County Metro. The service offers bus routes using smaller buses that can go off regular routes to pick up and drop off passengers. The Trainer performs all regular training functions to prepare an individual for the driver position and provides leadership, guidance and training to drivers with various levels of experience (including drivers with a CDL and drivers without a CDL) with an emphasis on safety and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have experience with training or adult learning and is committed to working on a team in a mission driven environment ensuring a safe and positive experience for all Hopelink passengers. A valid Washington State Class C CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred.

Your qualities:

• Two or more years of previous training experience and an understanding of adult learning, assessing, implementing, conducting trainings and curriculum development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills (speaking, listening, and interpretation).
• Strong computer/technology proficiency: ability to use MS Office 365, MS Outlook, and online systems including timekeeping, and program specific systems, etc.; SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Presentation skills.
• Advance organizational, leadership, and time management abilities.
• Prefer (not required) seven years driving experience; a valid Washington State Class C CDL with passenger endorsement.

What you will be doing:

Under the direction of the Safety and Training Manager, perform new driver training and orientation class and assists with any driving test that may be required.
