Koniag Management Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Cybersecurity SME with a Public Trust 6C clearance to support KMS and our government customer. This is a remote opportunity.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Interview portfolio stakeholder leadership on current strategic plan, operations and challenges document findings and make recommendations that align with the Executive Order.
  • Perform an inventory of physical and virtual devices and their platforms within each portfolio and make recommendations to update those that do not align with the Executive Order.
  • Collect data and interview system owners, and other stakeholder POCs as necessary, to gather information required to analyze and document the assessment and recommendations for EO compliance.
  • Review current FSA Incident Response Playbook and Cyber Response Processes and propose updates that align with the Executive Order.
  • Complete the Zero Trust maturity model assessment that aligns with Executive Order.
  • Review Vulnerability management program and determine alignment with Executive Order.
  • Review existing and planned cyber response technologies including EDR, VA, SIEM and logging solutions and make recommendations that align with the Executive Order.
  • Review SDLC and current processes as it relates to Software Supply Chain Security and make recommendations that align with the Executive Order.
  • Review ICAM program Access Controls procedures, Multifactor authentication, automated access management, Just in Time access, and encryption and make recommendations that align with the Executive Order.
  • Deliver requirements for multi-Factor authentication mapped to Digital Identity Risk Assessment.
  • Support development of implementation plans to support MFA across all FSA applications focusing on quick wins as part of a longer-term enterprise roadmap.
  • Support Mobile Application MFA Proof of Concepts (PoCs) solutions.
  • Develop enhanced Multi-Factor Authentication mechanisms to provide increased security for user authentication across multiple device platforms.
  • Performs technical reviews in evaluating the work products and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and comprehensiveness, especially as they pertain to the security architecture domain.
  • Provides guidance, strategies, and techniques on encryption of data-at-rest and data movement software, including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
  • Reviews current system security measures; conducts system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; and recommends and supports the implementation of enhancements.
  • Research emerging security practices and standards; tracking, identifying, and communicating current and emerging security threats; and developing recommended threat mitigation and/or prevention strategies.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
  • 5 + years of Linux or Windows systems administration.
  • Public Trust 6C
  • 5 + years of computer networking.
  • 10 + years of experience in Cyber Security
  • Experience providing technical advisement and support for programs implementing ICAM, MFA, or Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience managing IT initiatives and collaborating with internal & external technical staff.
  • Experience developing IT solutions and providing strategic advice on technology to meet business objectives.
  • Experience developing technical correspondences, project documentation, presentations, reports, and other professional documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of integrity, critical thinking, and leadership courage.
  • Must be a self-starter that can recognize needs and act with little to no guidance.
  • Ability to rapidly understand and apply new concepts.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Advanced MS Word skills; proficient PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook application skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
Desired Skills:
  • Hands-on experience working with firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Experience using Linux and Windows administration.
  • Experience using cloud infrastructure.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
