Job description

Cybersecurity Intern

ArmorPoint is seeking multiple summer Cybersecurity Interns to support the Cybersecurity department with a wide range of tasks and projects related to alert management, compliance, quality assurance, and internal document review. The Cybersecurity Intern will work with the ArmorPoint Director of Operations and team to apply critical thinking skills in a cyber environment, learn how to identify threats and risks, and apply mitigation techniques.


The internship is full-time, at 40 hours per week. Trapp Technology is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, but the position is 100% remote within the United States. Ideal candidates will seek an internship that is both educational and practical. Strong candidates will be highly detailed and research-oriented, looking to better understand and work within a SOC environment.


Essential Duties

  • Acknowledges, routes, and follows up on cybersecurity tickets
  • Under direction, reviews Watchlist alerts and correspondences
  • Creates and updates project documentation and SOPs
  • Reviews, edits, and updates knowledge base articles, including grammatical proofreading, formatting, and adding tags
  • Adhere to, author, edit, and review policies, standards, and procedure documentation
  • Conduct and support miscellaneous audits and quality assurance tests
  • Participates in eliciting, gathering, and documenting business-driven cybersecurity requirements
  • Works on Security Compliance assessments to include reviewing vendor compliance against required minimum security standards
  • Performing research on latest cybersecurity related threats, trends, vulnerabilities
  • Add and maintain Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
  • Participates in team meetings and technical trainings
  • Supports a wide range of projects as a delegated resource in cybersecurity
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in the Junior or Senior year of an undergraduate program or master’s program, or recent graduate
  • Candidates should be pursuing a field of study applicable to information technology, cybersecurity, or computer security with a focus or interest in assurance, governance, risk, and compliance
  • Previous academic or professional experience working in a professional setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented with the ability to work both autonomously and effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
