Job Description
The Security Analyst plays a crucial role in the organization’s cybersecurity team, specializing in operating and overseeing key security tools such as Darktrace, Proofpoint spam filter, KnowBe4 training programs, and Office 365 Data Loss Prevention (DLP). This role requires close collaboration with network engineers and system administrators to monitor, assess, and enhance the organization's security posture, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and compliance with relevant regulations.
1. Darktrace Monitoring and Management:
- Operate and maintain the Darktrace cybersecurity platform.
- Analyze and interpret Darktrace alerts to identify potential security incidents.
- Customize Darktrace models to improve detection capabilities.
- Generate and analyze reports from Darktrace for management and compliance.
- Respond to investigate and mitigate alerts in a timely manner.
2. Proofpoint Spam Filter Administration:
- Manage the Proofpoint spam filter solution.
- Monitor and mitigate threats like phishing and spam in email traffic.
- Update and maintain email security policies.
- Provide user training and support on email security best practices.
3. KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training:
- Administer the KnowBe4 platform for employee security awareness training.
- Develop and update training content based on current security threats.
- Monitor training completion and performance, assessing program effectiveness.
- Develop and run phishing campaigns through the knowb4 platform to asses staff response.
4. Office 365 Data Loss Prevention:
- Implement and manage Office 365 DLP policies and controls.
- Monitor and analyze data to prevent unauthorized access or data leaks.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory data protection requirements.
- Train staff on compliance and best practices for data handling in Office 365.
5. Collaboration with IT Team:
- Work with network engineers and system admins to enhance security infrastructure.
- Participate in designing and implementing security measures.
- Assist with managing network security tools like firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Help develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
6. Incident Response and Threat Analysis:
- Support security incident response, including investigation and remediation.
- Stay informed on cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security assessments audits and remediation.
- May require after-hours availability for security incidents or maintenance.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare security status and incident reports for management.
- Maintain documentation for security systems and procedures.
Salary starting at $90k
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, etc.) are advantageous.
- Experience in managing Darktrace, Proofpoint, KnowBe4, and Office 365 DLP.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
