Position Summary:

The Cybersecurity Analyst plays a vital role in keeping company proprietary and sensitive information secure.  We are currently looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team to protect our organization from cyberattacks by monitoring our systems and evaluating threats as they arise.  Responsibilities include monitoring the organization’s infrastructure and assets, identifying, and evaluating threats that could result in security incidents.  This will be done by examining logs from firewalls, intrusion detection systems, email gateway systems, endpoint protection systems, SIEM and audit logs from Active Directory and applications.  Secondarily, the Cybersecurity Analyst will also be responsible for issuing security advisories to others in Information Technology.

Furthermore, the Cybersecurity Analyst will perform Level 1 triage of incoming issues, providing for incident detection and response, malware analysis or reverse engineering.  This individual form a large part of low complexity resolution to incidents and requests by users and take an active part in the resolution of events even after they are escalated. The Cybersecurity Analyst will monitor security events received through alerts from SIEM and other security tools but will also enforce security policies and will assist with security audits, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and Trusted Partner Network as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises through reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
  • Communicates alerts, advisories, security updates, and warnings from vendors and relevant security entities to internal IT functions and leadership as necessary.
  • Conduct incident response, from discovery through containment, and completing response to reporting and post-mortem evolutions.
  • Review and monitor endpoint protection platform, agents, and devices to ensure proper security controls and posture for all company assets.
  • Review and monitor data sources, logs, events, and feeds that correlate security information into company's SIEM security platform.
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain our Zero Trust solution to ensure proper security controls, egress restrictions, agent updates, and policy management on impacted assets to ensure proper data protection.
  • Prioritize, recommend, and follow up on risk treatment for identified security risks.
  • Provide research, evaluation, and expert judgement for product security planning.
  • Engage with cybersecurity leader to identify, prioritize, plan, track, monitor, and report on key cybersecurity initiatives, projects, milestones, deliverables, resources, remediation items, and/or findings through completion.
  • Performs periodic and on-demand system, account and admin audits, vulnerability assessments, and external web integrity scans to determine vulnerability status and security compliance.
  • Researches, evaluates, tests, and implements new security software or devices.
  • Work independently as well as a member of a team of security experts and IT professionals.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in information security or related IT field.
  • Certifications: Network+, Security+, ECIH, CEH, CHFI, CISM, CISSP or other relevant security certifications
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, and Apple operating systems
  • Expertise with network-based security tools, firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, remediation, and patching, data loss protection, zero trust frameworks, network monitoring, capture and detection as well as reporting and exporting.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, communicating and collaborating with team and cross-functional team members.
  • Project management knowledge and skills mandatory
  • Expertise with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Rapid7, Alert Logic, LogRhythm, etc.
  • Expertise with Endpoint Protection such as Symantec, CrowdStrike, Blackberry Cylance, etc.
  • Expertise with Zero Trust tools such as Zscaler, Cisco Umbrella, Palo Alto Prisma, etc.
  • Expertise with Cisco and Palo Alto network security products.
  • Experience with Incident Response and Forensics processes.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-41, 53, 61, 83, 171, SOC 2 Type 2).
  • Experience with international standards in cybersecurity (ISO 27001, 27002, 27701)
  • Expertise with monitoring and supporting information security systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Trusted Partner Network, content security protection standards.
  • Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines and achieve goals without constant supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus is essential.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to manage business and technical relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred

The national pay range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 yearly. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
