Level II: Building reputation through application of S&E principles and theories and developing technical approaches to solve challenges. Building networks at a local and capability level. Effectively teaming to share resources and optimize research at the group and division level. Mentoring junior staff and students.
Responsibilities
Designs, deploys, and operates systems, networks, applications, and tools that underpin Cyber Security and cyber defense. Provides integration of hardware, software, and other components to solve operational challenges for cyber defenders. Performs data and systems engineering functions to support cyber operations activities and systems. Engineers and deploys security and defensive countermeasures and controls. Ensures system security needed in operations are assessed, established, and included in design and development; executes security requirements definition, systems analysis, systems design, security hardening, security test and evaluation, and certification and accreditation. Supports operational systems and performs activities such as vulnerability scanning, network, and system security configuration, etc. Design and architecture of new approaches, methods and techniques for cyber defense and resiliency for information technology and operational technology systems and networks. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA -OR-
- PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge or experience working in a DevOps environment.
- Knowledge or experience with Active Directory (User accounts, Computer accounts, Groups, Organizational Units, Group Policy, Schema, etc.)
- Knowledge or experience with Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022) and Linux Server administration (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, Rocky).
- Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Windows 10/11 Workstation administration.
- Knowledge or experience working with Nutanix AHV.
- Expertise linking operations and objectives-to-capabilities within complex environments.
- Experience with defense-in-depth cybersecurity implementations for air-gapped closed loop networks (DISA STIGS/Vulnerability Management/Encryption)
- Knowledge or experience working with Tenable, ACAS, and/or Tanium.
- Active DoD TS and/or DOE Q Security Clearance
