Our client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer who has a successful track record of protecting digital systems and data. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of IT hardware, application security, and network security. As a security-focused role, the candidate should be passionate about identifying vulnerabilities and risks in both hardware and software applications, and have experience with securing IT infrastructure both on cloud and on premise. A solid understanding of network switches, firewalls, AWS, and Active Directory is required. 
Essential functions:

• Malware analysis and mitigation

• Intrusion detection

• Create and audit cybersecurity policy and standards documentation.

• Sit on IT Change Control Committee as security SME.

• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of AWS security.

• Monitor existing systems via 3rd party tools and remediate security issues.

• Create education for end users on existing and new security policies to enhance compliance.

• Maintain awareness of current cybersecurity trends and concerns.

• Perform and manage system penetration testing and remediation; intrusion detection

• Notify the Infrastructure team about patching hardware and software systems as required to keep them secure.

• Monitor and troubleshoot identity and authentication (including SSO/SAML) issues.

• Combat security threats and find potential vulnerabilities

• Work with the software team to review openings or weaknesses in software that can be exploited

General requirements & qualifications:

• CISSP certification is a must.

• Good understanding of Windows (Desktop and Server) environments.

• Firewall setup and management (Fortigate or other).

• Solid understanding of security offerings and capabilities in AWS. AWS certified security specialty preferred

• Experience with cybersecurity related frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and NIST CSF.

• Previous policy and standards creation.

• Understanding of change management policies and procedures.

• Ability to work independently.

• Certifications are a plus

• Excellent written and verbal skills and fluent in English.

• Must be detail-oriented and have ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience

• High energy with the capability to multi-task in a dynamic, rapidly growing organization. Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (A citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work).
