Job Description
TechConnect is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for an industry leading organization in Tulsa, OK. This is a critical role and our client is looking for an individual that is well versed in cybersecurity analysis and response. They need an individual that is efficient, dependable, well versed in technology and has the desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
As a Cyber Security Engineer you will be responsible for incident response efforts such as alert identification, alert response, assisting vendors with alert response, and alert resolution. You will define, plan, organize, design, develop, modify, test and integrate database or computer hardware systems to protect against cyber threats. You will discuss data access needs, security violations and programming change issues with users. You will develop and train others on cybersecurity policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role you must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. You will need strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work with technical and non-technical professionals. You need to be a team player, but work independently as needed. You will need to exhibit good decision making and analytical problem solving skills. You must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail while multi-tasking projects and responsibilities.
Responsibilities (Cont’d)
- Utilize databases, networks, hardware, firewalls and encryption tools to prevent cyber-attacks.
- Develop complex software, applications, scripts, codes and instructions for enhancing cybersecurity measures.
- Maintain security and emergency policies, procedures and tests.
- Research, review, and be part of new solutions selection.
- Conduct high level risk assessment interviews with internal and external partners to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Perform detailed network surveillance and compile incident reports for effective threat detection and response.
- Adhere to organizational policies and guidelines, ensuring information security compliance.
- Provide guidance to all organizational employees on information security best practices.
- Collaborate with teams to implement and improve cybersecurity strategies and protocols.
- May assist lower-level Cyber Security Analysts with more complex projects.
- Some system administration duties.
- Strong technical computer programming and trouble-shooting skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, digital programs, Cyber Security or related field.
- 5 years’ experience in a Cyber Security related position.
- Preferred: Advanced or Master’s degree in computer science, digital programs, Cyber Security or related field. More than 5 years of experience in Cyber Security related position. Certifications in coding or data analytics programs such as Python, JavaScript, C++, etc.
- Good to know: OT security concepts, how to work with MSP’s and/or SOC’s, endpoint security tools, SIEM, security tool system administration, security awareness training administration, SAP security. May possess a security clearance.
Work Location & Travel
- 100% onsite, no remote work (must perform work onsite at client facility located in Tulsa, OK).
- Occasional travel as the position may require visiting customers and project sites. Subject to change according to business needs.
Physical Functions & Environment
- Ability to sit comfortably for prolonged periods.
- Work may be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and manufacturing environment which includes exposure to noise. Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust and some chemical fume exposure. Employee will be required to wear proper personal protective equipment.
