As aCyber Detection and Response Analyst at Unlimited Technology, you will be responsible for supporting the Security Applications team in configuring, networking, deploying and managing Cyber Detection and Response applications. It will also include working closely with compliance to ensure our systems meet or exceed federal standards. Furthermore, they will be supporting vulnerability assessments and tuning, metrics and continuous improvement activities related to the company’s security posture in detecting and responding to potential threats in the system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the security applications team.
- Responsible for configuring firewall IDS systems
- Responsible for the monitoring of assets for NERC/CIP violations
- Responsible for monitoring and investigating anomalous activity identified in Detection and Response
- Provides administrative support for equipment updates, device scanning and other activities.
- Support metrics development and continuous improvement
- Support the analysis of vulnerabilities and running vulnerability assessments
- Able to work early or late hours and weekends in the pursuit of addressing and remediating incidents, as they arise
- Must comply with any regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Relevant work experience using computer programs working in computer security field for 5+ years
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related program
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced Degree (Bachelor’s or higher) or comparable work experience (10 or more years)
- Certification(s) in cybersecurity, ICS systems or related coursework
- Prior experience in Networking, Vulnerability Management, Network Monitoring, Forensics, Penetration Testing or Threat Intelligence
- Familiarity with NIST documentation and standards
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell
- Experience in network security monitoring, network packet analysis, host and server forensics
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as NERC/CIP, SOX etc.
- Utility Industry experience
- Gather audit evidence
Skills / Abilities:
- Able to manage self and others under stress
- Intermediate networking knowledge – TCP/IP protocols, OSI model, Firewalls, other networking devices
- Intermediate software configuration knowledge
- Intermediate customer service skills and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze and think out of the box when working a security event
- Intermediate virtual machine set up and implementation
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
