This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities


As a Customer Training Specialist, for John Deere Construction & Forestry, located in Coal Valley, IL, you will develop and deliver various virtual and in person training programs to end use heavy equipment operators as well as to channel partners and company personnel. You will play a pivotal role in building the skill of our customers, enabling them to maximize the investments they have in their equipment and technology. Additionally, you will:


  • Provide effective safety, operation, and application training of John Deere construction equipment to our valued customers via online and/or in person offerings
  • Support various training events for internal and external groups held at our demonstration/training facility
  • Assist with management of demo fleet of equipment used at demo/training facilities
  • Assist with maintenance of training facilities and grounds
  • Support various industry trade shows

What Skills You Need


  • Knowledge and understanding of heavy construction, earthmoving, and/or roadbuilding equipment machine forms, systems, applications, and solutions
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with customers, dealers, and colleagues
  • 8 or more years of heavy construction equipment operator experience and skill within earthmoving or roadbuilding applications
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%


What Makes You Stand Out


  • Understanding of construction/contractor customer businesses, pain points, challenges, and applications
  • Expert level understanding of earthmoving and/or roadbuilding methods and processes as used in the industry
  • Experience in classroom or on-site training, teaching, and/or presenting
  • Ability to gain knowledge and skill in operating advanced or new machine forms with the latest technology
  • Machine operation experience with grade control systems

Education


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Machine application knowledge and operating experience will be the primary considerations for this position.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in any of the following will enhance the candidate’s ability to be successful: Construction/Architecture/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business/Management, Engineering/Technology. Marketing discipline
