Title: Customer solutions engineer, Tulip

Reports to: Business Development Manager, Tulip

Location: TECHNIUM USA-Hoffman Estates, IL or Davis, CA

Hours: Core Business Hours

Classification: Exempt

Travel: Up to 25%

Salary Range: $75k – $105k Depending on skill set and experience

Employment is conditioned on DMG MORI's ability to obtain and maintain any necessary export licensing.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Customer Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team. As part of our small yet impactful team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference and enjoy a high level of autonomy in your role. In this role, you will play a crucial part by offering technical expertise during the sales process, creating compelling product demonstrations, scoping statements of work to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, and delivering onboarding services to drive our customers’ success with the platform.

Your focus will be on our exciting SaaS product called Tulip, which is the leader in frontline operations. Tulip is helping companies around the world digitize their shop floor and equip their workforce with connected apps, leading to higher quality work, improved efficiency, and end-to-end traceability across operations. Companies of all sizes and across industries have implemented composable solutions within our cloud-native, no-code platform to solve some of the most pressing challenges in operations: error-proofing processes and boosting productivity, capturing and analyzing real-time data, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical insights, address customer technical concerns and questions, and showcase the value of our SaaS product.
  • Design and present tailored product demos alongside the sales team to demonstrate proof of value to potential clients, highlighting our product's unique features and benefits.
  • Contribute alongside the team to identify opportunities for growth, expand our customer base, and drive adoption of our product.
  • Organize / report on all productivity on a consistent basis.
  • Craft comprehensive scopes of work for customer projects, outlining objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Deliver exceptional onboarding support for customers, ensuring their success and satisfaction.
  • Passionate for technology and speak fluently about current trends related to SaaS, PaaS, IoT, and cloud solutions.
  • You have a growth mindset and are willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.
  • Skill set to take on lead projects with complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Comfortable communicating with customer stakeholders from the shop floor to the C-suite.
  • Flexible, and can thrive in environments that don't have defined processes, and you're excited to help build those processes.
  • Periodic support of internal Tulip use cases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, or a proven track record of tackling comparable challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically and solve complex problems.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or process engineering and factory floor automation
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 and the Industrial IoT.
  • Experience with: SQL, APIs.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Good project management skills, with a knack for handling multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English, including editing skills.
  • Strong work ethic, ability and passion to research and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

Education:

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Team Structure: As a Customer Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with the Business Development Manager and other team members, contributing to the growth and success of our SaaS product (TULIP). Your collaborative approach and technical expertise will be instrumental in acquiring new customers, expanding product usage, and ensuring customer success and satisfaction.

Work Environment: General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present possible hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

Physical Demands: Frequent: Travel, operating a vehicle, standing, sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones.

Periodic: Operating power equipment, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Occasional: Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects. Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
