Introduction
About the Position
The Customer Service Representative will address customer account and general inquires through in-person contact and incoming/outgoing calls as well performs entry-level administrative duties to include, but not limited to, accounting, cashiering, Customer Service, cash reconciliation and cash collection.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • One year of Customer Service experience with the public to include clerical work experience.

Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/department/service assignment.
Essential Functions
Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
  • Assists customers in person and on the telephone with questions and provides a variety of information.
  • Collects, counts, and reconciles cash, checks, and credit cards.
  • Computes customer bills and makes billing adjustments and provides bills to customers.
  • Identifies and contacts businesses/customers that have not obtained or provided proper paperwork.
  • Reviews and analyzes error/exception reports, making necessary corrections.
  • Explains verbally and in writing, information concerning the City's alarm ordinance.
  • Operates a specialized software and information systems.

  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement to operate an adding machine.
