About the role
Your Impact as a Customer Service Representative
This role will be responsible for compiling pertinent data and processing orders for products received from customer or outside sales respresentatives by perforing the necessary job requirements:
Your Essential Job Functions
- Process purchase orders and price quotations, deliveries and credit/complaint information in a timely manner. Domestic, import and export.
- Work closely with the planning, logistics, sales team, credit, and shipping departments to ensure a high service level and on time delivery to customers.
- Work closely with the quality and cost accounting departments to ensure new items are set up correctly. Specifications, product descriptions, product hierarchies, weights, and safety stock requirements must be reviewed for accuracy.
- Direct customer interaction to ensure excellent service is provided.
- Monitor open orders and order backlog daily. Communicate to Sales Management if plant is over or under booked.
- Field initial customer calls and inquiries. Prepare quotes as needed.
- Track quotation activity (status and success ratio). Work with respective Regional Sales Manager to follow-up on information regarding lost quotes.
- Obtain information for processing new accounts. Set up new customers with the Customer Master Data Team and forward applications and tax information to Credit for approval.
About You
Essential skills & competencies
- 4 year college degree highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of shipping, logistics or inside sales/Customer Service experience
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Comprehensive aptitude in SAP, MS Dynamics, Outlook, Excel & Word
- Strong organizational skills, time management, as well as ability to multi-task
- Individual contributor, motivated; self-driven
- Team player- willingness to help others throughout the department to level workload
