We currently have an opportunity for a talented, forward-thinking individual who shares our vision of helping girls and young women change the world for the better. This role helps to ensure that volunteers learn and comply with Girl Scout financial policies and procedures to promote financial health and safety. This role works directly with the bank to facilitate banking relationships for SUTs. Additionally, this role reviews troop/group and SU financial data as needed and provides relevant reporting.

  • Perform audits of troop/group bank accounts when problems arise. Communicate with the CFO and other relevant parties. At the direction of the CFO, develop documentation, produce collection letters, and process small claims filings.
  • Serve as an expert on troop/group financial policies and procedures, support compliance, and provide recommendations. Act as a resource to troop/group treasurers to ensure council policy and procedure compliance.
  • With the input of the CFO, design and deliver training and information to volunteers in finance roles.
  • Support volunteer groups by filling the volunteer finance role if none has been appointed.
  • Serve as an internal resource to staff regarding financial impacts (e.g., cookies, travel, donations), helping to improve the financial integrity and preparedness of their financial processes.
  • Track troop/group finances (est. $2M/year) in a way that promotes accuracy and data security. Provide accurate troop/group financial data to appropriate audiences. Ensure clear communication of troop/group financial status to the CFO.
  • Maintain timely, accurate records of activities and customer interactions in the customer relations management software and other information-sharing tools.
