We are seeking a Customer Marketing Sr. Planner to lead account-specific Customer Marketing strategy at Dollar General and Convenience Businesses. Key responsibilities for this role include development of annual strategy for priority brands across key OU's, development of campaign/creative briefs, management of budgets, and execution of projects. It requires interaction with customers, as well as internal Sales and OU teams, and agencies. The role provides exposure and learning in the areas of Commerce, Strategy, Planning, External Partner Management, and Matrix Relationship Management.
The ideal candidate will be able to bring experience in both digital and traditional marketing and innovative solutions. This is also an exciting time with both retailers as they are aggressively expanding their eCommerce capabilities and looking for strategic partners to help them along this journey.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead strategy and execution of General Mills retailer shopper marketing programs and tactics with internal and external groups
- Develop omnichannel shopper marketing plans and presentations
- Oversee creative briefs, timelines, budgets, etc. in support of shopper campaigns
- Lead and participate in key customer meetings
- Foster strong working relationships with sales and marketing team members at both General Mills and our customers
- Manage account level shopper marketing budget
- Conduct data/event analyses
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or Business
- 2-3+ years applicable experience
- Demonstrated ability to translate insights into powerful marketing programs/platforms
- Understanding of how to use Digital/Social mediums as part of a marketing mix
- Proactive leadership in identifying new opportunities and in managing day to day operations
- History of collaboration with cross-functional teams, agency partners
- Project management expertise
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the shopper marketing space & developing account specific marketing plans
- Experience selling to retail customers
- Understanding of marketing measurement levers and approaches
- Understanding of ecommerce and how brands win in that space
