Purpose of Position:
Perform a variety of cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance duties. The cleaner will be in charge of maintaining all public and private spaces to employer and client standards. Duties will include vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting, and bathroom services. Attention to detail and a positive attitude a must. The right person is punctual, thorough but fast, and eager to learn.
Educational Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience and Background:
- Preferred but not necessary: One year of work experience or training which demonstrates suitability for and knowledge of what is required in this type of work.
- Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and cleaning products, supplies and techniques for cleaning.
- Enjoy working with people; friendly, helpful and patient and able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good communication skills, ability to speak, read and write English.
- Able to record information accurately.
- Must be able to stay calm in difficult and stressful conditions.
- Ability to adhere to strict policy and procedures per company and OSHA requirements.
Certificates, Licenses and Requirements:
- Valid State ID, Driver License or government-issued ID.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card preferred, not required.
- Must have valid Driver License and motor vehicle record must meet our insurance criteria.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds on regular basis, routine walking, standing, bending. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
- Must pass pre-hire drug test, breath-alcohol test, occupational fitness test, computer-based testing and background check.
- Rotational schedule of at least 11.50 hours per day for a minimum of 21 days straight as required.
Essential Duties or Functions:

- Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
- Cleaning includes lighting fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings (inside), floors and carpets.
- Some light maintenance (examples: changes light bulbs in common areas, restocks carts and cleaning supplies, checks for irregularities-warning lights, drips, leaks at all times etc.).
- Maintaining and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, products on cart and storage area.
- Disposing of trash from bins and containers in areas using approved procedures, clean public bathrooms, clean all common areas, clean exercise rooms and machines, assists with the moving of laundry.
- Report any material discrepancies beyond the scope of the housekeeping department to the supervisor/manager.
- Help supervisor/manager unload supplies and assists with freight deliveries.
- Observe safety standards and regulations.
- Adhere to strict detail as regards to the use and dilution of chemicals.
- Attend training to maintain and/or improve certifications and skills.
- Daily exposure to water, cleaning chemicals and solutions.
- May include other duties as assigned.
