Custodian Maintenance Supervisor

General Purpose: The Custodian Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a custodial staff in the cleaning, repairing, and maintaining of assigned buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds in compliance with all safety, health and school rules and regulations to provide students with an invitational school environment that is a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn and develop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Custodial Supervisor must be available to respond to any possible maintenance emergencies on school grounds outside normal school hours, weekends and holidays.  
• Position requires the ability to supervise and delegate duties of the custodial staff. 
• Unlock Corona Campus school building doors each day and turn off the security systems.
• Monitor FMX Maintenance request daily and collaborate with facilities manager on weekly and daily priorities.
• Maintain FMX HVAC awareness on all mechanical HVAC equipment and notify facilities manager on any new maintenance request for Haynes work orders required for repairs.
• Supervise custodian staff daily as directed by Facilities Manager.
• Maintain outdoor trash bins to ensure they are emptied weekly.
• Raise West and East flags daily as the weather permits.
• Clean all assigned areas daily to include sanitizing and restocking bathrooms.
• Clean all assigned classrooms by vacuuming, cleaning carpets, tiled floors, dust all room furniture surfaces, collect and dispose of trash, clean all glass surfaces, and clean blackboards and whiteboards.
• Inspect and implement proper repairs on playground and playground equipment.
• Inspect and repair custodial equipment including vacuums, buffers, extractors, etc.
• Maintain records including daily maintenance reports and supply inventory.
• Establish, monitor and manage custodial supplies and equipment including inventory.
• management and purchase order requisition for necessary supplies.
• Maintain knowledge and train custodial staff in the operation and location of emergency controls.
• Transport and or retrieve refreshments, food, or equipment to designated area for meetings as assigned.
• Deliver and retrieve supplies to or from each campus as directed.
• Report to work one hour early, or as directed by Facilities Manager on snow days to help clean and salt sidewalks.
• When dedicated events are held at the assigned facility, complete extra cleaning before and after the event and assist with any set up or breakdown of equipment.
• Report on working in appropriate work attire as directed and maintaining proper grooming.
• Be available for overtime in emergency situations and for extra cleaning.
• Report to any building to complete custodial, FMX maintenance request directed by Facilities Manager.
• Complete additional duties as required for short periods of time due to unusual circumstances.
• Positively represents the school and its mission to the students, parents, colleagues, and public.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff and administration.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities: As needed or assigned.
  

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic math, writing, and communication skills.
• Technical knowledge concerning maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of building equipment. 
• Knowledge of custodial techniques including standard methods, materials, tools, hazards and safety practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain all types of custodial equipment, hand tools and snow removal equipment.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety codes, custodial chemicals, and OSHA requirements.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license preferred.
• CPR and first-aid certification preferred.t

Experience:

Three or more years' experience in custodial and maintenance work, including supervisory.

Salary: $25.00 per hour with benefits (medical, vision, dental, and life insurance). Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA) a lifetime monthly benefit in retirement.
