Custodian / Janitor - Office Building

The Custodian position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our office spaces, contributing to a healthy and efficient work environment. The Administrative Office Custodian will be responsible for a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks, promoting a positive and professional atmosphere for employees and visitors.

Qualifications: Proven experience in custodial or janitorial services is a plus. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other team members. Physical fitness and stamina to perform cleaning tasks and lift/move heavy objects. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to maintain a tidy and sanitary workspace.
• Clean and disinfect common areas, including restrooms, break rooms, and shared equipment.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Stocking restrooms.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as necessary.

Workspace Organization:

• Arrange office furniture and equipment in an organized manner.
• Assist in setting up and arranging meeting rooms for various events and gatherings.
• Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate personnel.

Safety and Security:

• Ensure all emergency exits and pathways are clear and accessible.
• Maintain a vigilant eye for any potential safety hazards and report them promptly.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to implement and follow security protocols.

Collaboration:

• Coordinate with other staff members to schedule cleaning activities without disrupting daily operations.
• Work closely with the administrative team to address specific cleaning needs or requirements.
• Perform ad hoc projects as appointed by Supervisor.

Customer Service:

• Provide a welcoming and professional atmosphere for employees, clients, and visitors.
• Respond promptly and courteously to requests or inquiries related to cleaning services.

Working Conditions:

• This position may require standing, walking, or lifting for extended periods.
• Flexible work hours may be necessary to accommodate special events or urgent cleaning needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
