Qualifications:
High school diploma preferred and related experience and/or training. Must have thorough knowledge of approved cleaning, preventive and corrective maintenance methods and care of school buildings and grounds. Must have the ability to use appropriate equipment including, but not limited to forklift, lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, extractors, etc. Must have experience using district selected maintenance software as applicable.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports and enforces Board policies and administrative procedures.
- Reports all incidents of damage, vandalism, problems or discrepancies for correction and clarification to Head Custodian.
- Assists in providing a safe environment for students and staff by seeing that spills are cleaned up immediately and exits are always clear, etc.
- Requisitions custodial and maintenance supplies, materials, tools, equipment and maintains appropriate inventories.
- Displays work habits that are in compliance with good safety practices.
- Loads and unloads supplies, equipment, etc. from carriers as assigned.
- Remains on the school premises during working hours and during non-regular hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required.
- Maintains the building(s) and grounds in an excellent state of cleanliness and is ready to fulfill all of the various needs of the educational programs and the community.
- Maintains floors, walls, doors, windows, furniture, chalkboards and fixtures.
- Maintains a clean and tidy custodial closet(s).
- Performs minor repairs and replacement of damaged or missing items to the buildings and equipment.
- Performs minor repairs and replacements such as broken chairs, tables, doors, ceiling tile, floor tile, carpeting, missing duplex covers, missing screws, painting, light bulbs, filters, etc.
- Ensures that applicable equipment is inspected annually to assure safety and compliance with safety laws.
- Responds to emergency calls for repairs or security.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program on grounds, and miscellaneous cleaning equipment.
- Supervises and maintains general security of the total facilities.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
- Must satisfy all job-related attendance requirements.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Hours:2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Availability of Position: Immediately
Salary Range: Minimum $37,253.
Placement on the salary schedule depends upon educational preparation and work experience in the field - 260-day contract.
