Job description

MELE Associates, Inc. (MELE) maintains a contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation (NA-80) Nuclear Emergency Response Team (NEST). MELE requires an exceptional candidate to fill a Curriculum Development Graphic Designer role to support the NEST Program with the following duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Development team and key stakeholders to create and revise interactive and engaging technical education curriculum including course design documents and curriculum documents in support of the NEST objectives.
  • Design, produce, and deliver moderately complex graphic products.
  • Contribute to the development of visual concepts, develop effective visual communication, and develop conceptual ideas.
  • Assist the development team in making information visually engaging and easy to understand.
  • Participate in training experts working group involving federal staff and laboratory training experts.
  • Apply complex graphic design principles, theories, and practices.
  • Brief on the status of projects, as needed.
  • Disseminate and archive finished training products as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in graphic design or related field.
  • (4) years of specialized work experience in such fields as curriculum graphic design, visual, new media curriculum design, interactive multimedia curriculum design or a closely related curriculum media arts field.
  • Experience in visual arts, publication, print design, branding/brand identity, promotional design, and marketing and advertisement, producing charts and graphs, HTML 5, CSS, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as customary applications.
  • Knowledge of web and tablet application curriculum design theory.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard graphic design software on PC platforms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in visual arts or graphic design.
  • An active Q/TS security clearance is preferred.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of related curriculum graphic experience

LOCATION: This is a full-time onsite position in Albuquerque, NM.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
