The Curriculum Developer will improve learning experiences that educate the electric power trade workforce through all stages of career growth and development.  This role will leave a mark on the industry by ensuring curriculum is practical, consumable, logically structured and sequenced, and uses audience-appropriate language.  This individual will partner with a team of creative problem-solvers and subject matter experts to improve curriculum that is delivered in the classroom, lab, field, and virtual environments where our NLC students learn and work.

  • Improve practical, relevant, and accurate technical curriculum for the trade to include instructor-led materials, eLearning, operator manuals, educational assessments, reports, and exam items.
  • Maintain document versioning, changelogs, and the rollout process to publish revised curriculum.
  • Creatively problem solve while balancing quality and practicality to achieve project goals.
  • Leverage technology to efficiently develop and publish curriculum including LMS, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint, Monday.com, and eLearning authoring app platforms.
  • Design and develop learning around best practices from department operations and style guides.
  • Collaborate with curriculum graphic designers, coordinators, editors, subject matters experts, and Creative team members to bring content to life.
  • Drive alignment through skillful interview and facilitation techniques to extract project requirements and technical information from customers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
  • Actively learn about the trade workforce, our customers, and our products and services, including our vast library of curriculum and associated assets.

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in technical writing, journalism, communication, English, curriculum development, instructional design, education, or related field.
  • Five (5) years’ experience creating curriculum in lieu of a degree.
  • Prior experience working in a content production environment.

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign), workplace productivity tools (Monday.com), and eLearning authoring tools (Articulate).
  • Knowledge of adult learning best practices (developing curriculum and/ or delivering instruction).
  • Proficiency in basic office and web-based software (MS Office Suite, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills – oral and written.
  • High level of abstract reasoning, to include flexible thinking, creativity, judgement, and logical problem solving.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic office environment, coordinating multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently.
  • Self-starter that is highly motivated and detail oriented.

$57,636+ annual salary, DOE
