Located in Central California, Institute of Technology - Modesto is an established and respected name in post-secondary education and enrolls approximately 350 students annually. The school's central location is within a short drive of the ocean, mountains and some of the nation's most renowned national and state parks. Modesto is in the heart of one of the greatest agricultural areas in the nation, the fertile San Joaquin Valley. Dairy products, nuts, fruits, wine grapes, and poultry products are some of the top commodities of the region. Institute of Technology takes advantage of all the area has to offer by teaching 9 programs at the Modesto campus, including: Medical, Culinary Arts, Criminology and Emergency Response Management, and Heating/Ventilation and Air Conditioning. The Modesto campus was established in 2005 and has steadily expanded to include new programs such as Vocational Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Effectively guide learning and learner development
• Maintain high energy level and ability to engage students to ensure an excellent student experience
• Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management
• Assume complete responsibility for students in a lab environment
• Develop student remediation plans as necessary
• Effectively use a mentor/coach approach to build educational relationships with students
• Serve as a positive role model for students, assisting in their professional/social development
• Work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and other team members
• Engage in professional development activities to maintain currency in educational research, trends, and best practices
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service sessions, student orientations, graduations, and other campus events as required
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
• 3+ years industry experience as an entry level culinarian within the last 10 years
• Teaching/training experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• High level of problem solving and decision making aptitude
• Professional image with the ability to effectively represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with the community
