About the Employer
San Jacinto Unified School District is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse faculty and staff.
Located in Southern California's Inland Empire, San Jacinto Unified School District is located 85 miles east of Los Angeles and 90 miles north of San Diego. The District serves approximately 11,500 students in two TK-5 schools, four K-5 schools, one K-8 school (serves as a World Language Academy), two 6-8 middle schools, one 6-12 school (in the process of becoming a Middle Years Baccalaureate program), two 9-12 High Schools (consisting of one comprehensive and one alternative program), a K-12 virtual learning academy and a community based adult transition program for students 18-22 years of age. The District also operates six full-day and two half-day Head Start preschools, and six half-day State preschools. Finally, one of the elementary schools serves as a Leader in Me school and one as an elementary Primary Years International Baccalaureate program. All schools are on a traditional calendar.

Job Description / Essential Elements:

AGRICULTURE TEACHER, SJHS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Teaching sections of Agriculture, Agriculture Biology, and Floral Design.
• All FFA responsibilities and SAE Projects.
• Growing an on-campus school farm laboratory including shade house, greenhouse, trees and flowers.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Credential Required:
Single Subject Agriculture
WORKING CONDITIONS
ENVIRONMENT:
• Office environment: constant interruptions.
• Outdoor environment: drive a personal vehicle to conduct work; visit school sites; travel to other organizations and companies; meetings and workshops.
Physical Abilities
• Hearing and speaking to conduct group training, exchange information in person electronically and on the telephone.
• Ability to read printed matter and computer screens.
• Ability to understand speech at normal levels.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies.
• Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb a ladder for purposes of inspection when necessary.
