Ct Technologist

Medcentrek is seeking a CT Technologist to work at the IOWA VA Medical Center. This position is for 6 months (4/1/24 - 9/30/24) in duration. The position is for 40 hours per week. Shift choices are from 7:00am - 3:30pm OR 9:30am - 6:00pm.

At least 20% of VA health care systems have a shortage in the labor market of clinical occupations, including physicians, registered nurses, psychologists, practical nurses, medical technologists, diagnostic radiologic technologists, social workers, nursing assistants, and medical technicians. This position is in directly supports our Veteran's in getting the access to care they deserve!

General Duties:
- Perform diagnostic CT scans on patients as ordered by physicians
- Operate CT equipment and ensure images are of high quality
- Position patients correctly and provide clear instructions during the scanning process
- Monitor patients' condition and respond to any adverse reactions or complications
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and analyze scan results
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed

Qualifications:
- Valid certification through ARRT (CT) as a CT Technologist & BLS Certification
- Proficient in performing CT scans, including knowledge of proper positioning techniques and protocols
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with other imaging modalities such as PET scans, sonography, or X-rays is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and colleagues
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and record keeping
