Job description

CSWA or LPC-A (Eligible)
Integrated Behavioral Health – Family and Internal Medicine Departments
The Details…
North Bend Medical Center (NBMC) is hiring full-time Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) to work within the primary care behavioral health (PCBH) model in our Internal and Family Medicine Departments. As a Behavioral Health Consultant at NBMC, you’ll provide expert integrated care to adult patients as a member of the Primary Care treatment team.
This is not mental healthcare as usual – this is a behavioral health model that is interconnected with patient’s medical care and medical care team that requires specialized training and experience with a variety of medical care and mental health concerns. BHC’s are generalists, providing high volume services from a population based lens that are accessible, team-based and a routine part of primary care. We work alongside the Primary Care Provider (PCP) and staff to assess and provide brief, evidence-based, solution-focused assessments and interventions geared toward functional improvement for a wide scope of conditions, including most mental health challenges as well as behavior-related conditions (stress, sleep, smoking/vaping, diabetes, chronic pain, etc.). It’s spontaneous, fast-paced and rewarding!
The BHC functions effectively in a highly productive setting with the ability to successfully pivot patients from physicians throughout the day. The BHC thrives on being adaptable, flexible and able to independently function at a consistently high level. The individual in this position must be willing to engage in brief visits (e.g. 15-30 minutes) at a high volume and adept in working closely with PCP’s and other team members.
The ideal candidate is creative, curious and flexible with an ability to connect easily with others. Solid clinical skillset, lifelong learning mindset and friendly personality are necessary.
