  SAIC has an immediate opening for a Cryptologic Maintenance and System Administration Technician that performs electronic Maintenance and System Administration for cryptologic systems used in a training environment. This full-time position is onsite in San Diego, CA and includes support to other training locations. Support to other sites will be primarily virtual (distance support) but may include travel to Jacksonville FL, Pensacola FL, Everett WA, Pearl Harbor HI, and Yokosuka Japan. Travel is anticipated to be less than 10%.

 

JOB DUTIES:

·       Ideal candidate for this position is a prior Navy Cryptologic Technician Maintenance (CTM) with experience maintaining SSEE INC E and/or SSEE INC F systems. In addition, prior Navy Electronic Technicians (ETs) and Information System Technicians (ITs) with experience in both System Administration and Radio Frequency (RF) troubleshooting could also be successful in the position.

·       Ensure systems and training equipment are available for training sites’ scheduled courses and other training staff needs,

·       May be required to respond to trouble calls outside of normal working hours, although this is not common and is typically scheduled in advance.

·       Will perform electronic Maintenance and System Administration on a variety of current tactical cryptologic systems and related hardware and software used in a training environment.

·       Must be able to perform system software loads, updates, and security patches to maintain system security accreditation.

·       Will work with training site personnel in setting up and preparing the systems and equipment for training to include creating user accounts, analyzing, and archiving audit logs, and resetting the system to a default operating posture per standard operating procedures.

·       When hardware and software faults arise, the system administrator will provide troubleshooting and technical support necessary to restore the equipment to full operation.

·       The cryptologic technician / system administrator must have experience in analyzing, configuring, and maintaining servers, to include multiple virtual workstations and servers networked together across separate subnets and utilizing different operating systems (e.g., Linux, ESXi, Solaris 10 and multiple Windows operating systems).

·       Experience in RF troubleshooting includes use of spectrum analyzers and time domain reflectometers (TDRs) to test cabling and ensure the RF environment is prepared for training. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Bachelor's and five (5) years or more experience; experience accepted in lieu of degree.

·       U.S. Citizen

·       Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

·       Two years of experience in Navy TCS (SSEE INC E, SSEE INC F, CCOP Systems) or complex IT systems with experience in the integration, analysis, System Administration, troubleshooting, setup and operation of virtual and non-virtual computers in an advanced network configuration.

·       Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 certified; willing to obtain and maintain currency of DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) certifications to include CompTIA Security + and CompTIA Linux + (or equivalent OS certification). If certification is not already held must be willing and able to obtain the necessary certifications within four months of hire date.

·       Ability to work individually and as a member of a team supporting local training command requirements as well as broader higher-echelon objectives and initiatives.

·       Prior experience with virtualization using both type 1 and type 2 hypervisors and with networks using Cisco and Brocade switches is preferred.

 


Target salary range: $85,001 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
