The Affiliated Santé Group is a dynamic and leading provider of crisis psychiatric care and system management services to public and private entities. Santé, a nonprofit entity, also manages mental health outreach and psychiatric recovery services.
We are seeking a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Specialist who will be responsible for all aspects of conducting the CIT Program which involves and act as the link amongst behavioral health providers, consumers, and law enforcement, in Elkton, Maryland.
Shifts:

  • 9 a.m - 5 p.m.

Commitments:
  • Responsible for the coordination of the CIT program in within the Elkton area of Cecil County.
  • Coordinate and conduct Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training for all levels of Law Enforcement including: Patrol Officers/Deputies, School Resource Officers, 911 Operators and other Communications Personnel, Detention Officers and Probation & Parole agents.
  • Implement training utilizing standardized curriculum and materials which includes set up, training and follow-up documentation and reporting.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance process for the CIT program which will include ongoing training and development.
  • Participate in CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) which involves debriefing law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel after an incident. This is an on-call role which could involve any hour of the day or weekends.
  • Participate in all mandatory trainings which involve travel to the Police Academy in Salisbury, MD as well as other locations to obtain ongoing certifications.
  • Maintain Maryland Police Training Commission certifications, as applicable .
  • Maintain correspondence and communication via email according to agency protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or related field.
  • One year of experience working with the criminal justice system and or mental health issues.
  • Highest ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  • Superb public speaking and training skills and a comfort level with training and development.
  • Collaborative and positive regarding working with law enforcement business partners.
  • Excellent client/patient service skills with the ability and desire to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable.
  • Ability to load up to 50 pounds from office to vehicle to training location at times.
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and no more than 2 points
