This position is located with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Investigations (DIG INV), Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Cyber Field Office (CyFO)

As a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR, GS-1811-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:

Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.
Basic Requirement: Medical Requirements
The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself, or others is disqualifying.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also meet the specialized experience described below:
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
Specialized Experience: Qualified applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower level or band that is equivalent to the GS-12 level within the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Planning and conducting investigations relating to alleged or suspected cybercrimes, and other criminal violations of Federal laws; recognizing, developing, and presenting evidence to reconstruct events; sequences, time elements, relationships, responsibilities, legal liabilities, and conflicts of interest; devising new investigative approaches, techniques and policies; preparing written documentation such as reports, describing evidence, recording facts about persons, objects and events; communicating instructions verbally, presenting case facts and recommendations, conducting interviews and interrogations; assisting other CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORs, management, and US Attorneys
