Job Description: Job Summary

The Crew Scheduling Instructor invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the Pilot and Flight Attendant Crew Scheduling Teams with the facilitation of training for Employees. This role collaborates with the Crew Scheduling Instructor Team to develop curriculum and teach New Hire Crew Schedulers how to apply critical thinking to schedule recovery. The Crew Scheduling Instructor has great interpersonal and communication skills and is excited about the opportunity to be part of impactful initiatives at Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
Partner with the Lead Crew Scheduling Instructor(s) to implement the rollout of training materials and lesson plans
Adapt training methods based on audience, subject matter, and materials
Facilitate New Hire and recurrent training classes
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge in the operation of training equipment including computer based training workstations
Knowledge of adult learning principals and facilitation
Knowledge of standard Crew Scheduling systems
Skilled in working in a stressful environment with contractual liabilities and strict deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
Ability to coordinate with Crew Scheduling and CHAT Leaders to ensure consistent application and interpretation of regulations, contractual rules, policies, and procedures
Ability to comprehend written documents including federal regulations and labor contracts
Ability to possess excellent problem-solving, decision-making skills, organizational and time management skills
Ability to defuse and resolve difficult situations as well as classroom management
Ability to work well as part of a Team and independently
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalency
Experience
Intermediate level experience, fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
Crew Scheduling operation
Microsoft Office programs
Communication
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be available for after-hours support when designated Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $72,800 per year to $80,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
